What to do about state bankruptcy
Letter to the editor

Californians were once referred to as “Prune Pickers.” Perhaps we still are. When I was a kid, I picked a few prunes myself.

California has also been called “The Land of Fruits and Nuts.”

I’m not sure where the fruits are grown, but I’m convinced that most of the nuts are members of our California Legislature.

They are supposed to be our Representatives and were elected to represent their constituents.

In my opinion, they only represent themselves and are driven by greed and arrogance.

As a result our beautiful state of California, which not too long ago boasted a financial surplus, is now bankrupt and over taxed.

The question is: What are we to do about it?
