I am writing in to comment on your article about Kids Junction (Placer Herald, June 25).

You posted that each site is staffed by a program coordinator, assistant, teachers, and aides.

I happen to know that the city laid off five, which is half of their assistant coordinators as of June 30. I am disappointed in the “false” impression you are giving potential parents.

I am specifically disappointed that the city let go Mary Dodge, assistant coordinator at Antelope Creek Elementary. She is an outstanding employee and loves what she does. Those kind of people are hard to come by.
