What: Free Prescription & Over-the-Counter Drug Collection & Disposal Event When: 6 a.m. to 6 p.m. Monday, Nov. 9, 2009 Event Location: RC Willey, 6636 Lonetree Blvd. in Rocklin
Looking for a safe way to dispose of unwanted, unused and expired medications? A Rocklin disposal event has you covered. The Rocklin Police Department, RC Willey and the Western Placer Waste Management Authority are teaming up to host a free prescription and over-the-counter drug collection and disposal event at the RC Willey Store at 6636 Lonetree Blvd. in Rocklin. This event provides an opportunity for area residents to safely dispose of their unwanted, unused and/or expired medications at no charge. The collection event will take place between 6 a.m. and 6 p.m. on Monday, Nov. 9 in the parking lot of the RC Willey store. The event will be staffed by Rocklin Police Department officers and volunteers. Participants in this event will be helping to reduce the amount of drugs that are discarded into the water supply and waste facilities. Participation also reduces the opportunity for children, teenagers and thieves to remove prescription and over-the-counter drugs from home medicine cabinets. For questions regarding this event, please contact Michael Nottoli via e-mail at Michael.Nottoli@rocklin.ca.us or by telephone at 625-5416. ~ Staff report
