Icing on the Cupcake goes purple for epilepsy awareness

Icing on the Cupcake gets on board with The Great Purple Cupcake Project.

When you purchase a purple cupcake at Icing on the Cupcake in Rocklin through March 26, you’re supporting a cause to increase epilepsy awareness nationwide.

Bakeries across the U.S. are baking up purple cupcakes in an effort to increase epilepsy awareness. The Great Purple Cupcake Project is an initiative of The Anita Kaufmann Foundation, an epilepsy organization focused on public education.

“This is a great way to give back to the community by doing something we’re already great at —making delicious cupcakes,” said Icing on the Cupcake Owner Christee Owens. “It is wonderful that local bakeries are being given the chance to educate people about a condition that affects so many.”

Epilepsy affects more than 3 million Americans and 50 million people worldwide.

The Great Purple Cupcake Project provides a way for local businesses to support epilepsy and seizure first aid awareness. Icing on the Cupcake will donate $1 from each purple cupcake sold to The Anita Kaufmann Foundation.
